A list of the top 5 fastest cars in the world

Driving a fast car is an exhilarating experience, but just how fast can some of these vehicles go. This is a list of the fastest cars in the world:

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport With a top speed of 267mph and a 0-60 time of 2.4 secs this car is blisteringly fast. Sporting an Aluminium 8 Litre W16 Engine producing a quite simply ridiculous 1200 break horse power this beast outclasses all others when it comes to pure speed. With a price of £1.5million all that power doesn’t come cheap.

Hennessey Venom GT With a top speed of 260mph and a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds this car finishes milliseconds behind the Bugati. This awe inspiring machine is powered by a whopping 6.2-litre Turbocharged Twin Turbo V8 Engine which matches the 1200 break horse power of the reigning champion. If you want to own one of these it’s going to cost you a somewhat cheaper £610,000. Claims that then Venom GT can hit 275mph have yet to be verified but it’s still bloody fast regardless.

Koenigsegg Agera R Matching the 260 mph of the Venom GT, the Agera R has a slightly slower, but still ridiculously quick 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds. This car carries a 5.0-liter V8 Engine with twin turbos which outputs an enormous 1099 break horse power. If you want to own one of these it’ll cost you a bank breaking £1million. As with the Venom GT there are claims that this car can top the Bugati but as of yet there has been no concrete reports. Once again though you can’t argue with the frankly silly speed that is 260mph!

SSC Ultimate Aero In a close fourth place comes the SSC Ultimate Aero which boasts a top speed of 257 mph and a 0-60 time of 2.7 seconds. This monster sports a Twin-Turbo V8 Engine that puts out an ear screeching 1183 break horse power. If you want own one of these be prepared to fork out base price is £420000. This brilliant machine was the fastest car in the world from March 2007 to July 2010.

Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo In fifth throwing down a very impressive 248 mph with a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds, this Twin Turbo Aluminum V8 powered beauty slams 750 break horse power to the floor every time you feel the need to open the throttle. This is the cheapest of the top 5 at £360000. Don’t let that fool you though, this is still one hell of a machine.

Pick your favorite, they’re all stunning machines and I’d take any one of them.
