Inspired by supercars, Hyundai may introduce a Sonata Turbo at the SEMA Motor Show. Although the company hasn’t revealed detailed specifications, they have hinted that the design of the car is actually inspired from Ferrari, Mercedes and Porsche.

The model will be greatly inspired in design aspects with the Brabus Rocket  (which is based on the Mercedes CLS). Interiors are designed with an influence from the Ferrari 430.

The car will be build with matte pearl white paint, carbon fiber components, and 20-inch wheels. It will also get a premium leather upholstery and carbon fiber trim. It is likely to be equipped with a “quad tip dual exhaust” and the company has not yet revealed any performance details of the car.

The RSC Raptor GT – a supercar with a bit of a difference has been created by Specialty marque Rotary Supers Cars of Germany. Comprising mostly of fiberglass and carbon fiber, the car features a technology called Variable Aerodynamic System adapts the aerodynamic properties of the car to create more downforce at high speeds.

What adds to the specialness of the car is the engine – a specially built 4-rotor rotary engine by Rotary Super Cars which uses some parts of the Mazda 13B MSP.

Reports say that the Raptor GT will be sold with different spec-variants: the GT S, RS, RSR and N-spec. Engine configurations will vary depending on the model and will include a water-to-air inter-cooled turbo or a bi-turbo system, say sources. The engine is mated to an 8-speed RSC R-Shift transmission with a hydraulic shift mechanism – helping the driver to make gear changes in 25 to 35 milliseconds.

Weighing 1100 kg, the vehicle boasts of an output that ranges from 500 PS (368 kW) for the 2.6 liter 4-rotor engine, to 800 PS (588 kW) for the turbo and a remarkable 1,200 PS (883 kW) for the twin-turbo configuration. In addition to these, the Raptor GT possesses an active suspension system, a carbon-aluminum drive shaft and an electronically-controlled rear axle differential.

The interior has two 7-inch display screens that display telemetric data from the car – which includes vehicles settings for the various electronic systems and also pressure and temperature indication.

Rotary Super Cars has plans to bring out a second project supercar that will reportedly set a new benchmark for cars in this category- the VelociRaptor. Right now this is in the construction phase, but it is understood that the new supercar will be a 1100 kg (2425 lbs) vehicle mid-engine with AWD, has an 8-speed sequential RSC R-SHIFT transmission, 90% carbon fiber, and pushes over 1.200 PS (883 kW / 1184 bhp).

We have been hearing a lot about the BMW 1-Series M Coupe. The car even made it to the Paris Auto Show, but had quickly drove away leaving us to wait in anticipation again. The latest is that a set of pictures – teasers in fact , have been  revealed. And, gosh, look at them, by any standard, they really fascinate us.

A black veil keeps almost all detailing away from our eyes, but the little we get to see makes us go for more. All we get to see is a wider track compared to the standard 1-Series we saw earlier. The teaser also reveals  air vents on the rear bumper, the outline of the undercover rear spoiler, and the previously spotted quad-exhaust. Nothing more!

We think the car will come sporting twin-turbo inline 6-cylinder boasting 350 PS (257 kW / 345 bhp) and could also come only with a 6-speed manual gearbox.  More teasers might be on their way. To get the car for real, we guess we need to wait till 2011. And that’s next year, so no worries.

The first details of the 2011 HPE700 Camaro Convertible from the Hennessey Performance stables are out.  As has been the case with the company’s earlier HPE700 coupe model,  the upcoming  the convertible will come with a CarbonAero body kit that would comprise a front splitter, a rear diffuser and revised side skirts.

A  Corvette ZR1-sourced LS9 engine will power the model , and the engine will be outfitted with cold air induction system, upgraded pulleys, and high-flow fuel injectors.

The 6.2-liter V8 has been designed in such a way that it returns 755 hp (563 kW / 765 PS) and 763 lb-ft (1,033 Nm) of torque . That means a clear increase of 117 hp (87 kW / 119 PS) and 159 lb-ft (215 Nm), thereby enabling the car to speed from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and run the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 130 mph.

Further, the car will boast of a colored hockey stick side strip, and 20-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tires.  An adjustable coil-over suspension, upgraded sway bars and a Brembo braking system with 15-inch rotors have also been included.

The company is however thinking of rolling out only 24 units of the car, be it a coupe or the convertible variant.

The buzz in the auto industry is that Jaguar is toying with the possibility of getting into production of the C-X75. Sources have been telling some auto publications that Jaguar is doing a feasibility study, which looks at the viability of producing approximately 1,000 to 2,000 C-X75s every year.

What most people are eager to hear is how successful Jaguar will be when it comes to building the turbine engines that the concept had. Sources at Jaguar have stated that it would be two or three years before the turbine technology could be implemented, followed by another three or four year period which would be required to integrate it into a vehicle.

The upside to this is that making a gas turbine engine is more affordable – it has fewer parts than the internal combustion engine has and therefore, has fewer mechanical processes that can potentially go wrong. Now that the word is that production of the concept is a possibility – it remains to be seen how and when Jaguar will make this a reality.
